It is so effective because each session is tailored to each individual client, with no dated off-the-shelf scripts or fixed procedures.

Cognitive hypnotherapy draws on Neuroscience, Time Line Therapy, NLP, Cognitive Theory, Behavioural Therapy, Positive Psychology and Evolutionary Psychology to create a powerful, effective, therapeutic framework to help clients effect positive change.

Hypnosis is very safe when performed by a trained and experienced hypnotherapist. It is not mind control or brainwashing, and  you will always remain in control.

Hypnosis is not appropriate if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, nor if you have the following conditions: schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, epilepsy, dissociative disorders, or psychosis.

During a  session, you will typically be invited go into a trance, which is a natural state similar to daydreaming. Whilst in a trance, you will remain in control at all times, but your subconscious will be more open to suggestion than at other times, helping you make the positive changes you want.

Yes. Online hypnosis is just as effective as in-person.

In fact, many people feel even more relaxed and comfortable in their own home, or workplace, and this can only add to the positive outcome as we work together.

One recent research report concluded that online therapy leads to better progress and was even more effective than face to face therapy. Similarly, a systematic review in the Journal of Medical Internet Research (Vol. 14, No. 4) said results from online therapy “seems to be at least equivalent to face-to-face therapy”.

No. Hypnosis is a state of focused attention, similar to when you are absorbed in a book, a film, or a hobby. You can come out of hypnosis any time you want, though most people find it a deeply relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Effectively you are on a guided journey, designed to facilitate the positive changes you want to make. Knowing you are in control, and can make positive changes yourself, can be very empowering and affirming.

So, you can feel safe and secure in the knowledge that you remain in control, and can end a session of hypnosis at any point though, as most people find hypnosis such pleasant experience they rarely want to.

You are in a trance when your conscious mind is in a natural state of deep relaxation, and your subconscious mind is in a highly focused state and open to suggestion.

We all go in and out of trance many times every day. For example, when you daydream about something or ‘get lost’ in a film, a book or some music then you have experienced trance.

If you have driven a familiar route in the car on ‘auto-pilot’ (without consciously thinking about the mechanics of driving) or lost your car keys –  only to then find them right in front of you – you were in a trance.

In fact, just like everyone else, you have done this a lot so you are already good at it and know exactly what to do!
